How to Transfer an Image onto Leather

How to Transfer an Image onto Leather.

This technique is very simple yet striking and highly creative.

The materials we need to have on hand for this work are:

A laser-printed photograph or image.

Natural leather.

Universal solvent.

Adhesive tape.

A cotton cloth or a wristband.

A pressing tool, like a burin or press tool.

Fixative liquid

Let's get started:

Place the image we want to transfer on the leather piece with the front side against the grain of the leather and stick it with adhesive tape.

Moisten the wristband or cloth with the solvent and rub it over the back of the image. At the same time, using the burin or press tool, press the image across the entire surface. Repeat this process.

Once the image is transferred, apply a finishing protector, either glossy or matte, and once it's dry, polish the area with a clean cotton cloth.
